Master The Inner Game Of Wealth And Success

Work harder.

I've never, ever said these words to any prospect, client, or even my children. To me, these words are repulsive. The word work represents doing something you'd rather not do. People in the United States have an average lifespan of 78.8 years. The universe is approximated to be about 13.8 billion years old, so needless to say, we live a relatively short period of time.

I believe we are here to enjoy all aspects of life and never take life seriously. In my opinion sacrificing any second of your life doing something you'd rather not do is insane.

Ever since I left the corporate world, a joyous and rewarding part of my life has been building my business and positively impacting as many lives as possible. I don't work hard and yet my business keeps growing. I spend a lot of time in silence and stillness understanding myself, and unraveling the mental and emotional conditioning which caused me to live rather miserably the first half of my life. I find the more I align with my true self, the easier things line up in every aspect of my life. I focus on the internal game of wealth and success, and that makes the external game easier and more natural. When I'm aligned I always get what I want - or even better. I've found this to be true with those people I teach as well.

In this article I want to share my formula.

The Formula For Wealth and Success

I've got a simple formula that wins every time:

Clarity about what you want

+

Certainty that it is already yours

Inspired, joyous action toward the outcome

+

Commitment to seeing the physical evidence appear

=

Luck

Different people struggle with different elements, and there is no order. Some might struggle with one element, some might struggle with all of them. It really is dependent on the person. It's up to you to understand where you're blocked.

What I do know for sure is that when you understand and as you master each element, results unfold magically.

I'm going to dive into each section of this formula, and unpack it a bit for understanding.

Clarity About What You Want

You can have anything in this world that you want, and the first step is getting clear. Most people don't live an awesome life because they don't know what they want, and they don't dare to dream of the life they want to live. The first step is to get extremely clear.

I find that most people are scared to dream. Some don't believe they can have what they want, some don't believe they're worthy, and some are so pessimistic that they are afraid they'll be disappointed.

Take some time to get clear about exactly what it is you want.

There's another step to this process: you must also get clear about why you want what you want. Take each outcome that you're looking to create and ask these questions:

Do I want this to overcome insecurity or fear? Am I trying to feel safe or more secure?

Do I want this in order to feel adequate, more, better, or to increase my self-esteem or how people perceive me?

Do I want this to prove myself or to attain significance?

If the answer is yes to any of these, your desire is built on a foundation of insecurity, inadequacy, and insignificance, and this is a foundation of sand. The thing you want will never solve the problem you have - and if the answer is yes to any of these questions you're trying to solve an internal conflict through external means.

As your internal insecurity, inadequacy, and insignificance moves, changes, and proves to be volatile, you'll find that your levels of certainty, commitment, and action will move, change, and be volatile as well.

Build your vision and what you want on a foundation of growth, adventure, and fun instead of trying to solve an internal conflict that you can't solve through external circumstances.

Certainty That It Is Already Yours

It took me forever to figure this one out, and my internal problems were driven by years of being guilted and shamed for wanting anything. I was taught by religious teachers and my family during my youth that wanting and desire are shameful. I was guilted whenever I asked for something. That conditioning caused a lot of problems for me, and caused me to never ask for what I wanted.

Since I began unraveling all of that garbage conditioning I've found that God, life, the universe - whatever you want to call our creator - wants for me what I want for myself. In fact I've found that when I get really clear about what I want and reach a level of certainty that it's already mine just because I want it, it shows up pretty quickly. It might not come the way I thought it would. The coolest part is that whenever it doesn't show up, something better does. That helps me understand that I was dreaming small.

Religion calls certainty faith, but I don't like that word as much as I appreciate the word certainty. Certainty to me feels much more concrete and decisive.

I spend a lot of time alone diving deep into my mind and emotions. Most people are terrified about what they'll find if they explore the deep caverns and recesses of themselves, but for me it's a fun adventure! If I am lacking certainty about an outcome there's always some conditioning, a conflicting belief, or a story I'm telling myself that is the reason for my lack of certainty. As I clear that barrier I become more certain.

You can feel certainty in every cell in your entire body. You can also call this emotional certainty, because you FEEL certainty - you don't just know it.

When you become absolutely certain it's just a matter of time. When you attain certainty it already feels like what you want exists.

Inspired, Joyous Action Toward The Outcome

78.8 years - that's all you have. And here's the crazy part of it all; no outcome is important enough to kill yourself over or to sacrifice your joy. If you don't love it and if it doesn't inspire you, don't do it. There's always a better way.

Look, you're going to die. You might want what you want for your family - they're going to die too. You might want to build an empire to create generational wealth and take care of your family for generations. That's admirable, but all empires crumble, and over a couple hundred years it's probable to vanish and be forgotten. Live for today. Take care of your family by taking care of yourself and taking only inspired and joyous action. You have nothing to prove, and it's a false belief that only hard stuff is valuable. Work smarter, not harder.

Stress, struggle and sacrifice are not glamorous and worth the impact they have on your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual energies. You can have it all, easier than that.

Here's another super cool part; in my experience the outcome never comes the way I think it's going to show up. I can take action and move the needle, but ultimately the outcome I'm seeking (or better) shows up through the back door. For instance, I tried to run social media ads to grow my business like everyone else, and never made a dollar. When I stopped, my programs started filling up through referrals, speaking engagements, and word of mouth. I took action, but the outcome I wanted ultimately appeared from a completely different direction.

Take only inspired and joyous action. God, life, and the universe just wants you to get off your butt and start doing something to create mental and emotional momentum. After momentum builds, life takes over and does the rest of the work. It's your job to get the ball rolling.

Clarity and certainty without some form of action is just a fantasy.

Commitment To Seeing The Physical Evidence Appear

Once you attain certainty, the hardest work you have to do it to remain committed to the outcome you want to create. For the undisciplined mind, this is a challenge.

Have you ever watched or considered how many thoughts you have? It's estimated that the average human being has between 80,000 - 120,000 thoughts per day. That's upwards of 80 thoughts per minute - most of them not very kind. In fact, most of them are full of fear, doubt, and worry. It's fear, doubt, and worry based thoughts that cause someone to quit or change the target.

Commitment is not just consistency in taking action, but consistency in bringing yourself back to your emotional certainty and mental commitment to the outcome you want.

Commitment is the last step because you can have what you want (or even better), but you only control your clarity, certainty, and actions. You don't control how it will be delivered or when it will show up. If you really want what you say you want and are committed, it will show up I promise. The universe wants for you what you want for yourself.

Putting It All Together

I believe in luck. I really do. I've seen it in my own life many times. The formula I've presented creates luck.

Clarity + certainty + action + commitment = luck

Luck makes dreams (or better) come true.

I want to offer you a free resource to help with this process. I've created a guide called the Live Soul Out Cycle, and it helps you get clear, understand your deepest fears, doubts, and worries, and create an action plan to create momentum.
